Collaborative hackathons for researchers, entrepreneurs, and citizens

Invitation

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the EUTOPIA_HEALTH online and on-site Hackathons, organised by the University of Ljubljana and the Ljubljana University Incubator. These hackathons aim to foster collaborative synergies by bringing together researchers from various scientific disciplines, entrepreneurs, citizens, and other stakeholders. Participants will work on ideas that address identified challenges, using data obtained from local environment, boosting collaborative synergies and R&I development.

2025 Challenges

Challenge 1: Health Motivation

"How do we make the long-term benefits of healthy living and preventive care more visible, measurable, and motivating – and inspire people to take meaningful action for individuals, companies, and governments?"

Challenge 2: Future Food Solutions

"How can we develop food-related solutions that address emerging consumer needs around health, transparency, sustainability, and experience — without compromising on joy or creativity?"

Proposed by Juicy Marbles. More information on Juicy Marbles' challenge

Who Should Participate?

The hackathons are intended for researchers, early career researchers (including PhD students), entrepreneurs, support staff, and citizens interested in collaborating with external (industrial) partners. Those who are not affiliated with an EUTOPIA_HEALTH consortium institution will not be able to travel to Ljubljana but are still welcome to participate remotely.

Benefits of Participation

Tackle Important Challenges: You will become a part of an international team of researchers, searching for solutions for important challenges: health, food, sustainability. You will be able to apply your expertise to practical challenges, contribute to innovative solutions and improve the understanding of real-world applications.
Networking Opportunities: You will connect with researchers from nine countries and also representatives of the two companies, providing challenges.
Feedback and Validation: During the hackathons you will receive immediate feedback on your ideas and approaches from experts and peers, helping you to refine your research or projects. You will gain new knowledge and experiences.
Join the EUTOPIA_HEALTH Community: You will become part of EUTOPIA_HEALTH research community and will be able to apply for various mobility opportunities, offered by the project.
